Moon Refuge Inc. has laid out a comprehensive roadmap to expand our services and better serve the at-risk youth and young adults in Los Angeles County. Our future programs are designed to fill critical gaps in the continuum of care, from initial contact to long-term housing solutions. While these programs are pending the necessary funding and resources, our commitment is steadfast, and we are actively working to make them a reality.
Outreach Services
Connecting with the Community
Our Outreach Services aim to meet youths where they are, extending a hand of support to those who may not yet be ready to seek help. This proactive approach is crucial in building trust and informing them of available resources.
- Street-Level Engagement: Trained staff will engage with at-risk individuals in their environments, providing immediate support, basic necessities, and information about our services.
- Awareness Campaigns: Through community events and public education, we aim to raise awareness about youth homelessness and how to combat it.
Mobile Unit Services
Bringing Hope on Wheels
The Mobile Unit Services will be a lifeline for those who face barriers in accessing traditional support systems, delivering essential services directly to those in need.
- Healthcare Access: These units will provide basic health screenings, first aid, and referrals to medical facilities.
- Crisis Intervention: On-the-spot support for individuals in crisis, including counseling and safety planning.
Drop-In Center
A Safe Space to Regroup
Our Drop-In Center will be a welcoming space where youth can find respite from the streets, access resources, and begin their journey towards stability.
- Basic Amenities: Showers, laundry facilities, and a safe place to rest during the day.
- Resource Connection: Access to case management, job training programs, legal assistance, and more.
Emergency Shelter & Permanent Supportive Housing
From Temporary Safety to Lasting Stability
We recognize the critical need for both immediate and long-term housing solutions. Our Emergency Shelter will provide immediate, temporary shelter for those in urgent need, while our Permanent Supportive Housing initiative will offer a stable living environment coupled with supportive services.
Emergency Shelter: Short-term accommodation with the goal of rapid rehousing.
Permanent Supportive Housing: Long-term housing solutions that come with a suite of supportive services aimed at fostering independence and self-sufficiency.
